If it does then u prolly need to clean the carb. If gas doesn't flow then I'd pull the tank make sure hose is clear and drain the tank and clean it. 2003 honda foreman 450.

When all of your fuel guage portion flashes it means there is a problem with the fuel guage function. which could be a number of things. your bike will still run as normal the fuel guage just wont work. the recomendations are to let a honda dealer look at it. When the motor isnt running the fuel pump will only run for a few seconds at a time, that part is normal but it should pump the same amount every time you turn the key off then back on. Pull the pump and check the filter, if its brown/black and looks dirty it's the problem.

Adjust the idle speed to 1400 rpm plus or minus 100 rpm by turning the throttle stop screw. My machine does the same thing (2003 Recon ES) and I just turned up the idle and it's still cold ...I installed a small clear filter on the line to the carb to help keep the carb clean. It seems to be lean (shuts off and won't start unless I pull the choke out even when warmed up). It looks like I have a "D" headed pipe plug looking thing in the area where the dynojet kit lists the fuel mixture screw should be.Common filters like 15412-hm5-a10 and 15410-KFO-315 are important to pay attention to. The 15412-kea-003 can go in either way. BUT make SURE you re install the washer that keep the spring from getting into the filter.
