I think Kiava Gamma is an especially rough time and is probably intended for later in the chapter. Janus is probably intended to be first, especially given the distances between those planets and footfall - Janus is quite close, whereas Kiava Gamma is rather distant.

Encountered two nasty UI bugs there in chapter 2. First one eradicated the planet's colonization menu. Both at Kiava Gamma and via the Y key. Second one involved landing on the planet and returning to the voidship. Doing so now catapults me back to the main menu.

The one for Hendrix's mission is in a mini-zone through a door on the far side of the rotating bridge. Its different than the one at the end of Kiava. Whe you defeated the final boss and got the code I assume you went to the place with the heretic machine.
The hidden Data Banks are located on Kiava Gamma and Dargonus, which you’ll visit throughout Act 2 while pursuing the main quest. Kiava Gamma is one of the more fun dungeon/planets so far. Even where I am now in the game, this is a pretty solid area.
