How to know when vex strike force is happening.

Yesterday (5/24) there were 5 Vex Strike Force events outside of the wee hours of the morning. They were at 8:30am, 12:20pm, 3:00pm, 5:45pm, and 9:00pm (all times Eastern). The day before (5/23) there were also 5 outside of the hours you noted. Four of them were between 6:30pm and 11:30pm.It's a really low spawn rate, it shows up as a PE in the director in the area when it's on tho. Just had one spawn. Game crashed on last portal -_-. I just got it, but strangely, the Public Event icon wasn't on the map. Yes, Lost Sector exotics including Necrotic Grip can drop from the Vex Strike Force event that can happen in the incursion zone. However also, just making sure, you need Beyond Light as it is a Beyond Light-era exotic. Two when I was way under level for them and the third earlier today. Ive not seen one and I've been on every day for hours. Bungle finally made them a bit more common. It says they're rare but I think that was an understatement on bungles part. They apparently drop exotics upon completion.

Certain exotics can also be acquired instead of LLS if you beat all of the missions of the legendary difficulty campaign for Witchqueen and Lightfall. I know I was just unlucky, but it makes me appreciate Vex Strike Force giving exotics you would normally have to farm lost sectors for. In VSF, I was able to conveniently complete my exotic collection for all three classes prior to this season. Hopefully this season's exotics get added to the VSF loot pool soon.
