Curved swords have a unique dual wield ability outside of power stance. Normally when wielded left handed their strong attack is replaced by a parry, but when paired with a power stance compatible weapon, with the required stats TO power stance, but NOT in power stance they can follow up a right handed light attack with an actual strong attack.
That weapon is just extremely good, it carried me all the way to the last boss. High damage, nice scaling (even better with sharp/refined), bleeding (which becomes extremely strong with carthus rouge), good weapon art (especially for chaining hits in pvp).
