My big issue with HOI4 is terrible AI which neither mod fixed mainly because dll code not accessible to modders. Total war has a great tech system, awsome new units, and it creates more options for diplomacy and war plans without being alt history. My main gripe is that it lacks a post 1940 content for France, something that BlackICE lacks too.
